There are many things we can do in order to find out more about our past lives whether we believe in reincarnation or not. Interestingly enough though, the amount of people who believe in reincarnation far exceeds the number who don't. In fact, reincarnation forms the backbone of many religions with Hinduism and Buddhism being just two of them. For many who don;t have any spiritual connection, reincarnation offers a common sense approach to solving some of life's many mysteries.

Record Your Experiences

There are admittedly many ways through which we can find out more about past lives but perhaps the most effective means, is to keep a journal, writing down all your experiences, both significant and insignificant. When doing this, one should also acknowledge the importance of making notes with regards to the state of your emotions at the time of these experiences. This is essential as our emotions are a very reliable source of clues and by noting these feelings, one will be better equipped when it comes to the stage when you try to put all the pieces together.

Your present daily life is more often than not, full of clues if only you're willing to look for them. Keeping a list of the things you like and dislike such as various foods, cultures, religions, and even architecture, can also shed some light on certain mysteries. In addition to this, one should keep a similar record with regards to one's personal traits such as personality, temperament, talents, and even any particular phobias you may have. Even things which may appear to be of little importance, such as a birthmark or your favorite type of animal, can all serve to provide additional clues.

Just as one should keep lists of all the things already mentioned, so too should you record all the details of the dreams you have. The reason for this is because past life experiences can often manifest themselves in a dream, thus providing you with even more clues. Remember, dreams can represent the present life as well as a past life. It's been established that one's mind is is highly receptive to suggestion, so for many it may prove to be beneficial to suggest to yourself, before going to sleep, that you wish to recall past life memories via your dreams. Whenever you awaken from a dream following suggestion, be sure to write down all the details as soon as possible before they start to fade.

Regression Therapy

Of course not everyone is in a position to meet with a past life regression therapist but if you can then it is certainly advisable that you do. Being professionals in this field, these people are trained and certified to offer guidance as well as to assist you in understanding any of the information you may receive. The International Association of Regression, Research and Therapies, together with the International Association of Past Life Therapists, both train and certify people in this field and are therefor able to offer assistance should you encounter any problems finding a reputable therapist.

Meditation

Another way of exploring your past lives is meditation. This is a private method of finding out about past lives and requires the necessary discipline as far as trusting your own instincts and feelings when clues are received.

Admittedly, meditation can often feel very similar to daydreaming, with thoughts, visions and images constantly coming and going but one should realize that during this process, some very valuable information will also be passing through. Be sure to write down absolutely everything so that you'll be able to go over it all at a time which is convenient. Also, as mentioned already, the human mind is very open to suggestion so if you tell yourself that you cannot recall past life experiences, you simply won't be able to.

Staring into the flames of a fire, or at any flame for that matter, can be beneficial for meditating although some people pr4efer audio stimulation instead, such as soft music. Of course not everyone requires stimulation as many prefer total silence instead.

Audio technology using a process called binaural beats has recently produced some interesting benefits. Slightly different sound wave frequencies are used in each ear and this brings on instant relaxation, likened to the experiences of the Zen monks during their meditations.

Whichever method you choose to use, it is important that you have a peaceful place to carry out your meditation where you will not be disturbed.

First and foremost, you need to be in a comfortable position and secondly, you need to be relaxed and receptive. Likewise, your mind needs to be free of thoughts which are undesirable in relation to your meditation. While it may take some practice, you need to be able to allow these thoughts to pass on after only having paid them a minimum amount of attention. Likewise, when questions come to your mind, address them and them let them go again. During this time you should expect nothing more than to experience a feeling of deep relaxation and rest assured, the answers you are searching for will most often come to you when you're least expecting them.

Whether or not you believe in reincarnation or not, if the images you receive actually help you to solve any problems, then your efforts will not have been in vain. For many people, proving the authenticity of the images they receive is at best, impossible. On the other hand, there are many people who receive images of such a nature, that they are indeed able to research places or even names which have been revealed to them.

The fact that many people learn they have shared past lives with the same person they love in this life, is nothing short of extraordinary. Of course these people may have shared a different type of relationship in their past life that what they do in this life . For example, a brother in this life may not have been a brother in a past life.

Perhaps you don't believe in reincarnation or the possibility of having had past lives but if you at least try it, the chances are you'll find regression to be very beneficial and in no uncertain terms, extremely interesting.
