Are your Past Lives Really In The Past?
Among the most confusing and well known of these involved a young boy who
was just six years old at the time. From a tiny village in Punjab, the boy
said that he had been a man named Satnam Singh, from the village of
Chakkchela, in a past life. He had never been to the man's village, but
said the man had lived there and could also recall details from there with
amazing clarity.
The family tried to discourage the boy from saying these things, but he
nonetheless continued to say that his name was Satnam. He even told others
what the man's father's name had been. Further, the boy said that he had
been killed in a motorcycle accident as he was heading home from school.
This claim was investigated and it was absolutely found that there had
been a man named Satnam Singh, and he had been killed precisely as the boy
said he had been. The young boy also revealed intimate details about the
family, and these also checked out to be accurate. The most amazing part
of this was when the handwriting of the young boy and the handwriting of
the deceased man were compared, and were found to be absolutely identical.
Another popular account of past lives reincarnation from the Stevenson
collection was that of Swarnalata, a girl of 3 years who remembered her
past life as that of a young woman named Biya Pathak. The young child went
on to describe the house that she lived and led her father to the property
when they were travelling back from the railway station in their town and
the child spontaneously suggested that she had lived in the area and that
they could get a better cup of tea in her house than on the road. The
turning point in the case came when the child recognized Biya's brother
and addressed him by his pet name from a group of 9 people.
There are dozens of such cases listed by Stevenson in his data. He also
goes on to state that often an injury caused due to a trauma in the last
birth can manifest itself in the form of a birthmark in the next birth.
One such case is that of a man from Thailand, who had the recollection of
being his deceased maternal uncle in his last birth; he had a scar to his
head and investigation revealed that the maternal uncle had died of a
knife wound to that area of the body.
Another case from Stevenson's files was very astonishing as well; with
that, a little boy claimed that he was a man named MahaRam; MahaRam had
been shot and killed at very close range, in the chest. What was amazing
was that this young boy displayed birthmarks on his chest that looked like
gunshot wound scars.
The theory of past lives reincarnation and other births that the soul goes
through is dictated by the Hindu philosophy of karma (deeds) and athma
(soul). According to the Hindu religious scriptures, the soul is
indestructible and it merely changes its form or body the way a human
being changes his clothes after they have outlived their useful years.
This is very different from Christianity's theory of reincarnation, which
focuses on Christ's resurrection. For the Hindus, reincarnation can happen
for the soul such that the soul takes the form of a woman, man or animal,
and the karma or the deeds in the present life will shape what kind of
life someone will have in his or her next life.
Several Hindu scriptures talk very much about past lives reincarnation.
Most notable among these is the Bhrigu Sanhita. This scripture apparently
had a complete accounting of the future and past births of all souls
living; it's unfortunate, then, that the scripture has been lost to the
ages.
As far as modern-day accounts of reincarnation or rebirth, Dr. Ian
Stevenson has collected some fascinating data. Today, science frowns on
the concept of reincarnation as an actual reality, so no one can state
with certainty that this is the most respected scientific source to be had
on reincarnation as a theory. It is, however, the most well documented and
famous, because Dr. Stevenson had a degree in medicine and was a
psychiatrist.
Unlike the current breed of past life regression therapists; Dr, Stevenson
did not use any type of induced trance or hypnosis on his subjects; rather
his collection of data is entirely and strictly based on children who had
a spontaneous recollection of the incidents in their past life.
Dr. Brian Weiss is considered to be the father of modern past life
regression, and he and several other eminent authorities in the field of
psychiatry and psychology consider that the concept of rebirth is in fact
a plausible one. Nonetheless, science itself remains very sceptical about
it. It's also worth noting here, however, that when people do undergo past
life regression therapy, they often suddenly dispense with lifelong fears
and phobias.
Just about everyone has his or her own theory about the importance of
reincarnation regression. This is not a new concept; it is one that has
been documented by various types of religions and cultures since the time
of the ancients. Since the soul or spirit is immortal and everlasting,
there are various questions concerning whether a soul can be reborn into a
new body after death. Interestingly, not just a few individuals have
experienced the recall of a past life full of memories in a different
body.
During the first session,
most individuals are taken into a trance and asked some very basic
questions in an effort to understand how they are experiencing their life.
In recorded studies, individuals are able to give an accurate account of a
past live and provide great detail about events that have occurred. During
future sessions, even when different questions are asked, the same
information is revealed.
Triggering reincarnation regression is possible by using another method of
hypo-kinesiology. While using this process, the muscles are tested during
the hypnotic trance. The muscle reflexes are checked to discover if there
are any type of past life secrets that should be exposed.
This is a resourceful method that can provide many interesting results for
some people. However, you should know that many sceptics consider that
this is just a means of persuading anyone in a trance like state to think
that their results are provoked rather than a natural occurrence to this
type of stimulation.
For some people, the answer to reincarnation regression comes from trigger
smells, sounds, or words. During the course of a normal routine, we might
be smell a home cooked meal or be watching television and recall something
that never happened during this lifetime. At times, this can cause fear,
but if we explore the experience further, we will discover the truth about
our reincarnation regression. This is what often leads us to people that
have a great deal of knowledge in this field.
Sometimes, walls are created that prevent us from being open to the
process of reincarnation regression. It is our own belief system and our
reactions that can cause such a blockage. When this is the case, there may
be fear concerning the unanswered questions and solutions within our
spiritual belief system.
Any person that is interested in reincarnation regression should avoid
questioning their current level of faith, but instead embrace the idea of
what regression could give them. Reincarnation regression isn't Black
Magic or some kind of evil practice. It is enlightening journey that can
be taken to expel some of the concerns or fears that are being experienced
in life. It is a way of helping a person come to terms with their
existence, allowing their inner soul to discover the peace that's been
missing.
The process of reincarnation regression can be jumped started in various
ways. One commonly used method is hypnotism. It is believed that if a
person is placed into a hypnotic trance, he or she will be taken to a
higher plan that allows the to undergo a spiritual awakening. This
awakening then allows the past experiences of their soul to come back.
There have been some cases than an individual has been able to explore
several different lifetimes in their memory. They recall pivotal moments
and the deaths of the body that was associated with those lives. For some,
this helps to explain fears that they have in the present life, as the
previous deaths were ones that the soul had experienced in the past.
What is important to note about the hypnotic process, is that the person
isn't in an actual unconscious state. During this method, they are
actually having their thought processes channelled which helps them to
focus on certain aspects.
The hypnotist may ask particular questions pertaining to a past life,
during the process of a trance like state. The person in the trance is
better able to focus on the various rebirths of his or her soul. However,
some unanticipated information can come to the surface, since his or her
feelings and thoughts trigger the information of a past life.
Sceptics may think that this type of information is forces upon the
individual while under hypnosis. They think that many of these ideas are
planted in the mind while someone is undergoing such a process. This is of
course, not true. While personally witnessing the complete process, one is
better able to understand that such thoughts and claims are not true and
have no basis of truth.
